Forging Memories: A Hot Summer Exhibition in Kaakamo

This summer, step into the glowing past of Kaakamo — a village where metal once flowed like rivers and every bell carried the voice of the land.

Our newest exhibition “Forging Memories” brings to life the fiery traditions that shaped this quiet northern village. With temperatures soaring outside, you’ll find even more heat inside — in the form of molten metal, glowing molds, and stories forged in fire and sweat.

The centerpiece of the exhibit is a striking image: a strong, weathered man — muscular and focused — pouring liquid metal into a bell mold, just as generations before him once did. It’s a tribute not only to craftsmanship but to a way of life that thrived in Kaakamo’s golden era, when bell-making and fishing sustained the village and defined its rhythm.

Each clang of a bell echoed over the water, calling fishermen home, marking time, and sealing memories. Now, those echoes return.

Join us in reliving the spirit of Kaakamo — where history melts into the present, and every bell tolls a story.

Opening 1.8.2025. 17-20.
